Twenty-one years. It had been that long since he had found her alone in the courtyard.
Your desriptions in this are amazing. Even from just the first paragraph I'm completely in awe because they read so beautifully, and it continues throughout the whole story. I love how with just a few words about Malfoy and Dumbledore, we know the time of the story. It's very well done.
I love how he thinks to keep the thorns for their uses. And I love how this time is very reminiscient of the last time he saw Lily, and that it took twenty one years before they were the same. It's very haunting. The two of them dancing under the moonlight and in the snow is sooo beautiful.
I love this: Each feature was as achingly familiar as his own.
AND THIS: The blush that had coloured both their faces was not visible on the ghostly images of the past, but Severus still recalled the heat with vividness.
I must admit I'm not the biggest fan of Severus Snape, but I really really enjoyed this. Snape is really haunted by his memories, and he still misses Lily after all this time. Well, we know he misses her until his last day.
Beautiful work! <3
Hello you gorgeous young lady! I thought it was about time I left a review that wasn't from a Pokémon (:P) Also, I've seen you post various comments and aesthetics about this story, and my curiosity just grew and grew. Snape/Hermione? Eh? Wha? So here I am. CONVINCE ME. Cheeky Dumbledore, of course he had sneaky plans. Do you know that I think this might be one of the first time travel fics I've read? (Like, if I have, I don't remember) and I'm actually really excited, especially for Hermione. She gets the meet the gang! Harry's parents! SIRIUS! This is amazing! WHAT HAPPENS NEXT?! I think your characterisation of Hermione is pretty perfect. She's just come out of a battle, is reflecting on the unfairness of it all, and she knows how dangerous it is firsthand to use a TimeTurner. I love how she thinks about the boys before she leaves, too. You'll hear from me again soon! ♥ B
Hello hello my darling! Ooh poor Hermione straight up. What a crazy thing she's done, I'm not surprised she's so overwhelmed the poor thing. Lucky she has Dumbledore, I love that she's posing as his niece! But Hermione! Marauders! I'm jelly! I love how you've set it straight after the Battle, and you have it come up throughout the chapter. Poor Hermione's really gone through a lot and I think you're doing a fantastic job in writing her emotions and thought processes. Ooh the fact that Hermione knows the futures of a few of the people at Hogwarts at this time makes my heart hurt a little bit. You'd just want to tell them so much, wouldn't you? :( And a Ravenclaw! I love that! I'm excited to see what that means for her :) Oh my goodness imagine if she did accidentally call Severus 'Professor'! Ha ha! Wee this story is so exciting! I can't wait for her to meet the Marauders and watch her relationship with Sev grow! Awesome work, Meg! ♥ ♥ ♥
I know I should really let it go, but I still love that Hermione had the chance to choose Ravenclaw. I also love the fact she changed her hair. It's a fresh perspective on Hermione, all these differences, because even though she's the same character inside, this is a completely new story, and she's bound to become a different person; it's starts with physical changes.
This makes me quite sad and I'm not sure why: She looked around at the scenery in front of her, still amazed that, for her, everything here was just blown apart and destroyed. Okay, I guess I do know why. It's a bittersweet description. Same sort of thing with her having Mudblood written on her arm by Bellatrix - she's just come out of the most traumatic few months, and there's reminders everywhere!
Ooh la la - A young Madam Rosmerta! I love how Hermione doesn't like her straight away because of Ron. (I'm assuming) that a lot of her prejudices about people from her time are going to be changed! THIS! So many months on the run and constantly looking over her shoulder, left her with the habit of not keeping her back to a door. I know I said it in the last review, but it really adds to the story that she's literally just come out of a battle, and it's really affecting her throughout the story. Ahh! Bellatrix and Lucius! AND LOCKHART! ♥ Ooh and Snape! Here we go, wee!
Awesome chapter Meg, each one moves the story along so nicely and they're extremely enjoyable ♥ ♥
Eek what a gorgeous chapter image!
So Snape has had like, two sentences, and already I can see you've written him perfectly and this is going to be amazing. Ha ha so much for not drawing attention to yourself, Hermione! :P BAHAHAHA Sirius! (Er, yes, I'm reviewing as I read) Oh, the priorities comment ♥ Sirius has zero chill. I mean, I'd probably do exactly the same, but she can't use the future as an excuse for everyone's behaviour! *shakes head at Hermione* YES. RITA SKEETER. YES. I love all the characters you've included here, Meg! I actually feel like I've been taken back in time by reading this! And Ludo, YES! Alice McKinnon, I feel like she might end up being Alice Longbottom? Such a fantastic chapter, I honestly never thought I would enjoy a story like this as much as I am. Snape and time travel are not exactly at the top of my reading list, but you have changed my mind and I am completely in love with this story. *Clicks favorite*
See you soon, Meg! ♥ ♥ ♥
So I noticed you had new chapters up so I came transfer more reviews BUT I HAVEN'T REVIEWED THIS CHAPTER! Ahh! So I'm here to fix that :)
Oh Lordy I love Rita. I'm SO glad you chose to include her, espeically with the history (future? o.O) that she and Hermione have! Makes for some brilliant tension :)
Agreed, Hermione. I think if you asked Sirius for help tying your shoes, he'd probably tie them together.
Another great chapter, Meg. I love how slowly everything is playing out. It's a good thing. Even though we know the Marauders so well, it's still nice to just see them a bit at a time so we're not overwhelmed :) Loving this story, loving you! Ahh, Severus next chapter!
Are we... are we finally swapping? Successfully, this time? Hallelujah! XD
And straight away you remind me of poor Sirius, wah :(
Oof I got second hand anxiety over Hermione arriving to find everyone else already in their groups. That's the worst. But oh well, there'd be no story otherwise ;)
Ooh he's writing in the Potions book! How eerie for Hermione to know exactly what it is, and where it will end up. Oh my goodness but it's Hermione who tells him to crush the beans! I love that!
Snape's walls are built so high and thick, I can't wait for Hermione to bring them crashing down!
Omg I forgot about Lockhart and Rita, that's hilarious!
Aw Remus <3
Ooh good question, Hermione. I wonder if there is anything else she'll change?
Excellent work as always Meg!
Trust Hermione to go straight to a book about time travelling :P
I love the thought of this little circle that's happening, with Hermione unintentionally changing things because she was meant to. I read a time-travelling series once where this same thing happened. It's a really cool idea.
AW Remus has feelings for Amelia too! Remus and Amelia, sitting in a tree! K-I-S-S-I-N-G! Bless them.
Haha I think Remus just summed up what we were all thinking when reading Deathly Hallows. "What do you mean Dumbledore is human with a human family?!"
Oh, Rita, and all her questions. Phew, lucky Hermione knows French! I got a bit worried for a moment there that Rita might have caught her out. Now I'm wondering if eventually Rita will do some more digging and discover Hermione is not who she says she is.
Ooh and some teeny tiny progress with Severus!
Aw, Harry and Ron <3 It must be so strange for Hermione to be at Hogwarts without them! I really feel for her. You write her inner thoughts so well.
Haha, yep, we thought Ron was bad! He's an open book compared to Severus!
Omg the boys are under the Cloak! That's hilarious! But the way they're always antagonising Snape is just horrible.
Just when I think maaaybe Hermione and Severus are starting to get along, it backfires. It's a case of one step forward two steps back with them, but my God, it leaves me wanting more every time. Aw and he healed her! I love the way you write Snape using magic. Sometimes I forget how talented he was, and such a gifted student, so I'm loving that you remember to include all of that. I mean, he was making up his own spells most of the time!
Ah no, Hermione's injury was caused by one of Snape's spells :( The beginning of Sectumsempra, maybe?
Again, I love how you include memories of the last few months, like being on the run from Death Eaters. She may have gone back in time but that stuff doesn't just disappear.
Aw, Meg, I'm really loving this softer (no matter how brief it was :P) side of Severus.
Ooh I'd nearly forgotten about the detention. Can't wait for that :P Is it bad that I'm actually disappointed that James and Sirius won't be joining them? McGonagall is clever for organising that though haha. Oh well, at least Hermione and Sev are alone! Aaaand nothing happened. DAMMIT MEG. OH THE SUSPENSE!
Those Ravenclaws really can party *considers changing house*
Hey Meg! I just can't stay away for long!
Oh gosh Hermione is a bit creepy by using the Cloak to stalk Severus haha! But I can't fault her dedication :P
I do like her strategy though, of not approaching Severus, and I knew it would work. Aw, and here we start to see how Hermione and Sev would work as a pairing, like how she thinks he would stimulate her intellectually, and I really like it. I also like that Hermione is now starting to see him in a different light, and I don't think she'll ever come back from thinking like this now.
Bless Remus, I love that he just doesn't change.
Wow, what a strange thought to think that all of this did happen before, and that the adult versions of Remus and Sirius know who she is! I like how Hermione finds out about things we saw Harry find out, like the scene where Severus and Lily officially stopped being friends. I like that Hermione can relate though, after being called a Mudblood herself.
Hermione's little speech at the end is so good, very powerful <3
Yay! Here I am back on one of my favourite stories *heart eyes*
I love how Severus is something like a skittish animal, and Hermione is treading around eggshells around him. I don't know what it is about it, maybe because it raises the tension, but I love holdinh my breath whenever they interact to see what happens.
"Although to Hermione, every book was one that she may possibly have needed." - Perfect. Absolutely perfect.
Aw, Severus asking about Sirius. He's so self-conscious and unsure the poor little thing. But look at Sirius being put in his place, ha ha!
I like that Hermione can seperate Severus from Professor Snape, because they really are quite different, and it's true that Severus is now her equal. That's very important I think.
*squee* Look at them, look at them, LOOK AT THEM! There's smiling! There's eye contact! Compliments! Be still, my beating heart!
Oh no, but the end! Is he sending her back early? Has she run out of time? Ahh!
CONGRATULATIONS on you F.R.O.G.S. win, sweetheart! I'm so happy for you and of course it is well deserved!
Phewww! Way to scare us there, Meg. I thought Hermione's time was over for sure (well, not really. There wouldn't be a story otherwise :P)
Dumbledore does have a habit of sending kids into dangerous situations. Hm... Oh gosh she might not be able to go home at all! :O
Haha oh, Hermione. I think all those things are the exact definition of fancying someone.
Oh I love that you had Rita listen to the discussion of Animagus! I adore all these little details you think to include. It's so amazing. And I love how Hermione is continuing to realize how the tiniest actions can have a big effect on the future.
I'm officially beginning to turn weak at the knees over this side of Severus. Even just him offering to help her up has me fangirling all over the place. Even them mimicing each other haha!
Omggg that last line! How freaking cute!!!
Hm, we're starting off with a flat out lie. Nice one, Hermione.
One of the things I love most about this story (not sure if I've mentioned it before) is the way you keep track of time. You're writing by days and that can be hard to do (I know I struggle to fill up the months without jumping too much) and it's really impressive that nothing is boring and it's all progressing really naturally, like I really am with Hermione every step of the way.
Sev is sooo cute in this chapter. It's so nice to see how much he's opening up to Hermione, and the little bond that's forming between them. He's even taking her to a super secret special place! Taking a boat out is such a sweet, romantic idea, and I can't believe this is the first time I've read about it happening. It's an amazing idea, Meg. Also the place sounds so beautiful. I'd love to go there.
It's also so interesting to read a Marauders fic where the Marauders are almost the bad guys. We're seeing them from a different point of view, and it's different - in a good way! But so awful all the things they did to Severus :( You do a really excellent job of developing the man we come to know him as.
The end scene with Lily is really sweet, too - I was wondering when we'd be seeing her.

- A Hannah Abbott Story -
Hello Sam who I love oh so much <3
(I'm just tranferring reviews over :))
(In all their crazy glory - not gonna lie, part of me wanted to rewrite them haha)
So I've mastered dancing under the moonlight in a sheet, now can you teach me the way of the short chapter? YOU ARE DA MASTERRR!
And curses I've been sucked in! It's just so easy to click 'next chapter' with a "Whoops, my finger slipped!" Dammit Sam I have things to do!!! Straight away I can feel the tension in Hannah, and how in tune she feels with Susan's body. Well of course I'm going to read on! How good does peppermint cocoa sound?!
Love Bianca x *chants*
I didn't have any peppermint cocoa, so I went for a regular hot chocolate instead. Ahh...delicious.
Ooh okay so Hannah's with Ernie, interesting. And he's so cute! I'd have him over for leftover mutton and canned peaches anyday!! Aw their whole relationship is so sweet! I'm actually a bit worried, I really like this Ernie :( I hope I get to see more of him later anyway!
So much Hufflepuff. Me likes.
You. You monster and your tiny round balls of fluffy pink-ish purple chapters.
Okay okay so now I love Susan! I'm emotionally confused! Everything she says is beautiful (see what I did there?) and I love her outlook on life! But now poor Hannah is all confused! WHO WILL SHE CHOOSE!
Just kidding, I have a hunch.
I love the easy nature of their relationship, despite Hannah's confusion. Susan will prevail! Excelsior!
Oooh look at this saucy adult version of Hannah! I actually don't think I've read many before. Me likey. This chapter not so fluffy or pinkish-purple :( It's more like one of those mace balls with all the spikes and grey colour. I'm ashamed for liking Ernie *hides* Well I guess that settles it for Hannah and Susan then! CHEERING WOO! Hufflepuff girl power pride, yo
I have housework to do I whisper to myself as I click 'next chapter'... Ha ha I love those magazine names! Arsehole or polyamorous, hmm... The constant struggle to decide. I love her reaction to finding out, though. It's real, the way she blames herself. BUT IT IS NOT YOUR FAULT HANNAH *shares hot chocolate* Oh shoot, I already drank it all. Oh well. But look how well Susan balances Hannah. She calms and softens her, almost. I don't know, do I sound philosophical yet? Should I throw more big words I don't understand around? Fare thee well (until the next chapter. Curses) xxx
*embarrassed cough* I'm slightly late to this. Aw poor Hannah! How hard this is for her! UGH Ernie you - you - why you little - GAH (There's the angry rant you expected before) I'm so glad she left, I was ready to shake her and go "Whyyy are youuu sleeping?" Wait - wrong story. I was going to shake her and tell her to snap out of it! But change is hard, I understand that, especially after she's been with Ernie for so long and that's all the life she knows. Onwards and upwards, Hannah! Excelsior!
Did you think I forgot about this story?! Because I did. ONLY KIDDING. I'm just a wee bit late. Okay so we're seeing a bit more of how Susan lives and especially her relationships, and I love how different that is for Hannah, though I imagine it's going to be really tough for her at first, given what she's used to in her own life. Are you going to educate me on this? I certainly hope so. I may have to do my homework on these relationships like you said once. I hope you've missed receiving reviews from me as much as I've missed leaving them for you! (Which is a lot, btw) ♥ ♥ ♥
SooOOOoo I went to read just the one, maybe two, chapters, but BLOODY HELL THIS ISN'T CALLED ADDICTING FOR NOTHING. I... I just... Hannah was so happy and everything was warm and wonderful and it made my heart be all fluffy and I couldn't stop reading! MORE! Dang, could totally go for some popcorn right now. This story makes me hungry. *squee* all over Neville. I love my little nervous talkative Hannah. So now I get to bug you for more updates, which was always the plan, but now it's actually happening because I NEED more and I NEED to know how this ends and I NEED you to know that this story is as amazing as you. ♥
You updated this twice since I've read it?! Gah!
Oh what can I say about this chapter <3 It really has Neville all over it. Also, I love how much of Hannah's personality you can squeeze into such tiny chapters. I also like how we get to see a glimpse of what it's like for a polyamorous person to date someone who isn't (since, as you know, you're the one who introduced me to this idea and I get all my education from you!) I hope things don't end badly for Neville! I just wanna squish him.
Not sure if I've said it before, but I love the lyrics at the beginning of every chapter.
I love this: "Those landmarks aren't so much on my map. I'm more of an offroad girl." But I totally understand Hannah's concerns about not having those milestones with Susan. They're what make a relationship feel stable and solid and progressive. But of course it's not like that for everyone, as Susan says. I love how you highlight these differences between them, and the nervous treading of water Hannah's doing in this new territory.
I'm glad their feelings are still so strong for each other <3
Can I just live in these words: Susan's luminescence and Luna's iridescence. Thanks.
Nooo where did the happiness go?! Will Hannah ever feel stable? I genuinely care for her so much, you've created some real and relatable and I love her and want her to be happy.
I love the description you put into these tiny scenes. It's so easy to feel like I'm there at the party.
