Oh, my goodnes. This crafting of the Marauder's Map is so good. I never would have thought about the crafting of the thing; it's always juat kind of been there in the books. You're right that this would have taken a lot of work. I like that you don't illisdtrate these boys as foolish schoolboys. James isn't a fool; Remus isn't this poor, disabled kid, but a guy with a crafty mind. I love how you craft this. I love that this like a nighttime stroll, wehich is a nod to Prisoner of Azkaban.
The small details that you puty in this thing is awesome. Good job on showing how they named the map. Often, fanfiction is just fluff randomly and weakly connecting the dots. You don't do that because you've weaved this together so it flows at a natural pace. I read your piece about "Fenrir" yesterday and then I got curious because I saw you had talent and respected the story. It seems like this was a fun night for the boys.
My only thing that I have here isd that your "lumos" should be written as an italicized "Lumos!". Notice that you do that correctly later on in the story. Well done, really well done. I'm looking forward to seeing more.
Thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed it and the mimicking of some of Harry's late-night adventures. For all the good in Harry, he definitely had some of the rebelliousness of a Marauder. The map crafting is definitely not rarely touched on so I wanted to show it a bit, since the Marauders must have put in so much effort over years to get it to work.
Thanks for pointing out the "lumos" thing. There always seems to be something that slips through in editing, unfortunately.
