Finally here with your requested review, sorry it took me so long... :(
I loved this! Really, wonderful job!
The breaking into sections worked lovely. I loved the escalation it created and how Dumbledore's view changed from the initial reluctance and remnant of hope and love for his old friend to the final acceptance that Grindelwald wouldn't change and the determination in stopping him.
I also loved the contrast you created between the two characters. On one hand Albus, his feelings, his regret, his will to stop injustice and suffering. On the other Gellert, his coldness, his lack of emotion, his thirst for power.
This was a really great read, brilliantly written and so powerful. The characterization was great, the structure absolutely clever and the flow just perfect. I loved it.
Thank you for the read, and once again sorry for the lateness!

Hi! That's okay!
Thank you so much for the review!
The sections were most definitely experimental just to fit it in with the song so I'm happy that it worked!
I was worried about the characterisation but I'm glad it came across well and showed their differences.
Thank you again!
OOH OOH GRINDELWALD! I love Grindelwald fics :D
HAPPY BIRTHDAY AMY! I'm here dropping off a few reviews in honor of your special day, which I hope you enjoy (your day that is, not the reviews, but feel free to enjoy those too), and you deserve all the good in the world for the effort you put into our little fandom home. Okay, anyway. I feel like I've been searching for this story my whole life, but no one ever seems to want to write about the duel. So thank you for satisfying me.
BAHAHAHA should I erase that last sentence?! Nah, lets leave it in there.
I like that Dumbledore wrote a letter to Grindelwald first, I feel that was a logical thing for him to do. Dumbledore would go through every means to stop him before it finally came down to a duel. And I don't blame him, thinking of Ariana every time he thinks of Grindelwald now :( Dumbledore and Grindelwald both have distinct voices and perspectives; you've done an amazing job with going back and forth between them. Also, I must really get onto Hamilton. Awesome job, Amy, I'm impressed by your writing! Can't wait to see what else is waiting for me on your author page!
