You know I'm such a fan of your work so I had to check it some more of it! this one caught my eye as I think it's an interesting pairing so I wanted to see what you did with them. I thought this piece was really beautiful, it was so mournful. there are so many lines in this that really pack an emotional punch, I'm going to have go through this again to pick out my favourite bits because it was all so amazing. the imagery that you've created set the mood perfectly, it's so heartbreaking.
your words have really created Ginny's emotional state so well, I really feel that total despair that she feels, everything seems so bleak. I think going through it a second time that the line that really captures everything you've created is 'You were the fountain of strength that everyone greedily drank from' also the line that relates to the title. it's bold and honest, I can imagine this being the case. Luna comes into this story like a shining ray of light. Ginny needs this so much!
I thought the romantic aspect was gorgeous, very subtle but quite romantic in a way. Luna is obviously so good for Ginny in this moment. I love your use of 'you' tense too. it makes so personal and really pulls you into the story. I'm hooked! Ginny really needs that hope, I'm rooting for her as a character. I want her to be happy! I don't really connect that well with the character of Ginny but I really liked what you did with her character. Good job on this Meg, it's really heartbreaking but really beautiful.

Hey there - dropping by for our review swap! :) So I know I've started a couple of your WIPs and never finished (which I've got to do at some point because you have so many and they all sound so good!), but I just had to stop by here - I hope that's okay :)
I love this, you know. I totally love this. It's not something I ship - not endgame, at least; I don't think they really challenge each other enough - but they're so cute in this and they work together so well, especially how you write them. They complement each other so well, and I like how it's never quite defined what they are to each other - there's no labels, no name they use to describe it or way they talk about it - it just happens and they just are, and it's so so lovely :)
The way you write them both is so amazing, too. I love the way you capture Luna's gently dreaminess and how she just gets people or seems to realise things about other people almost before they know what's going on, and how sweetly affectionate she is. And Ginny - how she struggles with being nervous and afraid when having to be brave, that she can't do it all the time, despite her fire and her courage; how she kinda needed inspiration to keep going from somewhere, and someone to help her through the times when she worries about her family, because they're in so much danger. It's so in character and everything in this story fits so well with canon - it's like a bittersweet and beautiful little snapshot from the behind-the-scenes sort of thing, you know; all the stuff at Hogwarts we didn't get to see. It feels like it could just slot right in there.
As always, I love your writing, but I really think you've outdone yourself in this. It's so emotional - at once heartbreakingly sad with the fear and the desperation and the worry and everything - and so sweet, with the way they look after each other, and the kind of easy, sweet relationship they fall into, totally by accident, and without needing to define it or put boundaries on it or feel guilty because of their relationships with other people. You manage to construct, through your writing, this sense of them being totally in their own world, away from everything and everyone else, protecting and recharging each other, and it's so beautiful.
Throughout this, your word choice is so lovely - as always! ;) - and your style is so, so good, and the emotions come through so perfectly. It's just a snapshot, but it's so heavy, you know, in the kind of way that it plays with your emotions and seems to linger, which I love with writing because it should move you, you know? It's exactly what something like this should be - you've done this so, so well.
Honestly, I loved this. I'm sorry about the horribly rambling review, haha, but I really did love it, and I'm sure I haven't done it justice :) <3
I've been meaning to get back to SSS, but when I saw you'd posted something new I just couldn't resist sneaking in and checking it out :)
Oh Ginny. Oh I love her. Oh I love how you've written her. I love that she's so strong on the inside but that it really took it's toll. That breaks my heart. But of course she would never let it show, I also love the references to fire you've made throughout. That really does suit Ginny.
I think the need for a physical connection with another human being during such a dark time is believable, and I really like the way you wrote it; mentioning Harry but also the need to feel grounded.
This was really beautiful, Meg :)
