Story:Replenished Chapter: Replenished

hi meg!

i don't think i've ever actually read ginny/luna because, i'm like, strongly for endgame harry/ginny that i never felt the need to.

but! but this is really beautifully written. even though i'm not much into doom&gloom of war (obviously, my favourite phrase), i sometimes like to read stories that happen to people other than the trio during the seventh book. this was an amazing snippet from that time.

i love reading about how ginny, a character we all know as someone fiercely strong and willful and not easily messed with, actually breaks down inside little by little. and how, ultimately, when everything seems bleak, luna is the one who helps her and comforts her and gives her strength. because in the books, luna was always the optimist and i can absolutely see her as being there for ginny.

their romance was well written, i think you captured the emotions wonderfully. my favourite part was when ginny almost didn't care who saw (honestly! it's a war. they need each other. who cares about what other people think, right?!). and i also liked, how, even with this, you did stay in canon as i don't see harry being angry with ginny for seeking comfort. he had ron and hermione the whole time. she was basically all alone (without family and constantly worrying about everyone) with the members of the DA and with the Carrows at hogwarts...in times of war, people need other people to get through it.

a great story! i'm glad i read it :)

Hello!

Ginny/Luna is definitely one of my favorite LGBT+ ships, and I was so happy to find this story! You did this ship so much justice, and I genuinely enjoyed this story. I only wish it had been longer!

To start off, I have to say that I absolutely love stories that take place at Hogwarts while the trio was off camping in Deathly Hallows. There was so much happening at Hogwarts at the time, and so many moments of resilience and bravery that definitely get overlooked. So thank you for writing about one of my favorite times in the series! (Man, I need to write a story during that time too...)

Next up, characterization! I felt like your Ginny and Luna were really great! I love that you mentioned that Ginny feels like she always has to be brave and strong. But realistically, she's a sixteen-year-old girl trying to survive a war, and all of her family and friends are in danger. That's a lot to put on a person. It's so natural that she'd break down sometimes. I love that Luna was the one to be there for her. I would have loved a follow-up story of how Ginny feels when Luna is snatched off the train by Death Eaters in the spring. Luna herself was so sweet and caring. I really like how you dealt with them both.

I also loved their interactions together and the realization that they were giving each other strength; that it wasn't just a one-way street. Their friendship is one of my favorites in canon, so I love seeing it evolve into more.

Overall, this was really sweet and captured a great "missing moment" in the series. I loved it. Wonderful job!

Best,
Emily

Hey Meg,

You know I'm such a fan of your work so I had to check it some more of it! this one caught my eye as I think it's an interesting pairing so I wanted to see what you did with them. I thought this piece was really beautiful, it was so mournful. there are so many lines in this that really pack an emotional punch, I'm going to have go through this again to pick out my favourite bits because it was all so amazing. the imagery that you've created set the mood perfectly, it's so heartbreaking.

your words have really created Ginny's emotional state so well, I really feel that total despair that she feels, everything seems so bleak.  I think going through it a second time that the line that really captures everything you've created is 'You were the fountain of strength that everyone greedily drank from' also the line that relates to the title. it's bold and honest, I can imagine this being the case. Luna comes into this story like a shining ray of light. Ginny needs this so much!

I thought the romantic aspect was gorgeous, very subtle but quite romantic in a way. Luna is obviously so good for Ginny in this moment. I love your use of 'you' tense too. it makes so personal and really pulls you into the story. I'm hooked! Ginny really needs that hope, I'm rooting for her as a character. I want her to be happy! I don't really connect that well with the character of Ginny but I really liked what you did with her character. Good job on this Meg, it's really heartbreaking but really beautiful.

Hey there - dropping by for our review swap! :) So I know I've started a couple of your WIPs and never finished (which I've got to do at some point because you have so many and they all sound so good!), but I just had to stop by here - I hope that's okay :)

I love this, you know. I totally love this. It's not something I ship - not endgame, at least; I don't think they really challenge each other enough - but they're so cute in this and they work together so well, especially how you write them. They complement each other so well, and I like how it's never quite defined what they are to each other - there's no labels, no name they use to describe it or way they talk about it - it just happens and they just are, and it's so so lovely :)

The way you write them both is so amazing, too. I love the way you capture Luna's gently dreaminess and how she just gets people or seems to realise things about other people almost before they know what's going on, and how sweetly affectionate she is. And Ginny - how she struggles with being nervous and afraid when having to be brave, that she can't do it all the time, despite her fire and her courage; how she kinda needed inspiration to keep going from somewhere, and someone to help her through the times when she worries about her family, because they're in so much danger. It's so in character and everything in this story fits so well with canon - it's like a bittersweet and beautiful little snapshot from the behind-the-scenes sort of thing, you know; all the stuff at Hogwarts we didn't get to see. It feels like it could just slot right in there.

As always, I love your writing, but I really think you've outdone yourself in this. It's so emotional - at once heartbreakingly sad with the fear and the desperation and the worry and everything - and so sweet, with the way they look after each other, and the kind of easy, sweet relationship they fall into, totally by accident, and without needing to define it or put boundaries on it or feel guilty because of their relationships with other people. You manage to construct, through your writing, this sense of them being totally in their own world, away from everything and everyone else, protecting and recharging each other, and it's so beautiful.

Throughout this, your word choice is so lovely - as always! ;) - and your style is so, so good, and the emotions come through so perfectly. It's just a snapshot, but it's so heavy, you know, in the kind of way that it plays with your emotions and seems to linger, which I love with writing because it should move you, you know? It's exactly what something like this should be - you've done this so, so well.

Honestly, I loved this. I'm sorry about the horribly rambling review, haha, but I really did love it, and I'm sure I haven't done it justice :) <3

Hiya Meg!

I've been meaning to get back to SSS, but when I saw you'd posted something new I just couldn't resist sneaking in and checking it out :)

Oh Ginny. Oh I love her. Oh I love how you've written her. I love that she's so strong on the inside but that it really took it's toll. That breaks my heart. But of course she would never let it show, I also love the references to fire you've made throughout. That really does suit Ginny.

I think the need for a physical connection with another human being during such a dark time is believable, and I really like the way you wrote it; mentioning Harry but also the need to feel grounded.

This was really beautiful, Meg :)
