NaNoWriMo

by Staff at 31 Oct 2016 11:04 PM

It's that time of year again! We love NaNo - pushing ourselves to write (and write and write and write!) is both frustrating and incredibly validating. If we're lucky, we're even productive. ;)

This is HPFT's first NaNoWriMo, and we're absolutely thrilled to be hosting a massive event surrounding it on our forum. In our Krazies Kaf, you can find NaNo nests (journals), rat races, help threads, and an amazing pajama party. We're psyched to see some of the NaNo projects make their way onto the archive, and regardless, we love supporting each other through this month of madness.

So, we invite everyone to come check it out, whether they're doing the full NaNoWriMo or are being NaNo rebels with more reasonable goals. Happy NaNo!

Welcome!

It's finally here! After months of hard work, we are absolutely thrilled to announce that the HPFT archive is open! Forum members can join and begin posting stories immediately; we'll officially open to the public and begin advertising the archive on November 15. We could never have gotten this done without you, and we hope you'll enjoy posting on here.

A quick synopsis:

Our archive is fully moderated; everything must go through the queue and be approved by a validator. Right now, there will be seven of us in the queue: the four validators, abhorsen, toomanycurls, and WriteYourHeartOut. We foresee (and hope!) there will be a large volume of submissions for quite awhile, but our plan is to keep the backlog in the queue to three days or fewer, so you don't have to wait for too long.

We allow original fiction and all fandoms that don't come with major copyright concerns (i.e., Disney) or whose authors have not expressly forbidden fanfiction based on their work. We are also open to a range of styles of stories, including traditional narratives, drabbles, and poetry. Like our forums, our archive is committed to transparency. We have a formal appeals process in place for rejections, and we encourage you to reach out to archive staff with any questions, concerns, or suggestions.

We can't wait to start validating your stories!
