The bedroom door burst open and there was a cry of horror. Flashes of light - red, white, blue. A jet of green, but it missed and struck the wall. The creature fled the way it had come, as the attacker sent one last spell before running to the body in the middle of the room. "Remus! Wake up! Please, Remus!"
Gellerd Grindelwald, the second darkest wizard of all time. How did he learn of the Deathly Hallows? How did he rise to power? How was Albus Dumbledore able to defeat him? And why, at the end of his life, did he try to protect the one who had locked him away?
A second later, the fire released him into light. In front of him, a village, and standing before it with wand raised, laughing as it burned, a man. The sky was streaked with orange and purple, the last remnants of day. The man turned slowly, and piercing blue eyes met for the first time since that night in Godric's Hollow. So many years had passed, but each recognised the other in an instant.

The year is 1952, and Europe is a tense and dangerous place. In a shadowy world of spies, betrayal, and shifting alliances, powerful wizards from East and West battle for domination, while a rising dark lord may outwit them all.

Hermione's death had certainly been unexpected.
Severus Snape being the one to help her cope in the Afterlife, with the sadness of leaving behind nearly everyone she cared for?

She was more than a pimply intellectual.
He was more than a Quidditch-crazed playboy.

He'd become like a brother to you, had he not? A brother in all but blood...and perhaps even that. It was sealed with knife and oath. The clasping of hands and mix of crimson. Albus, you fool. You'd thought it was all figured out. That you'd run off and everything else would fall into place. It didn't.

Aislinn Walker knew when she was recruited as an Unspeakable that her job would be dangerous. Returning to Hogwarts as a student was a task she hadn’t expected. Facing death as it stalked the blood-splattered halls would be a nightmare she might never recover from.

Hogwarts was a place where dreams were supposed to be realized. Where students were encouraged to dream of all they could be. But in a time where war made mosters of them all, there was no place for dreaming. Follow the girls of Gryffindor as they come face-to-face with their own demons. Are they strong enough to face the shadows or will they be consumed?
